Rocky Bluff Campground
Peace, nature and solitude await you at the Rocky Bluff Campground. Just 3 miles south of Hot Springs and 1 hour northwest of Asheville, this hidden getaway deserves more recognition because the campground itself is small with only 15 campsites. Plus, several trails are easily accessed from the campground including the Van Cliff loop trail, Spring Creek nature trail, and the Appalachian Trail. The Spring Creek Nature Trail is particularly enjoyable as it is located directly in the campgrounds and follows the scenic Spring Creek. Along this trail are a number of creek access spots where campers, hikers, anglers and adventurers can splash into the beautiful creek or bask on the shore. Trout are stocked in Spring Creek periodically. Camping at Rocky Bluff Campground provides an excellent opportunity to catch your dinner and then cook it over your campfire that same evening.
Rocky Bluff Campground is the perfect destination to enjoy some peace and quiet. The campground is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend. Each campsite has a parking spot, picnic table, tent pad and fire grate. Drinking water and a public restroom is also available at the campground. “One of our favorite campgrounds in the Appalachians! Each campsite is unique with its stonework, only 15 campsites, and a fantastic camp host! A walking trail to a creek right from the campground that we played in daily. Spent two weeks here and it was hard to leave.” – Nic
