Half-day (five mile) and full-day (9 mile) guided raft trips are available depending on your adventure preference. Rafts are 13 feet long and can hold 5-6 rafters. Unguided raft rentals are also available for experienced rafters.
Section 9, from Barnard to Hot Springs, offers scenery and white water challenges, from Class II all the way to Class V. For wildlife lovers, one of the draws for rafting with the Hot Springs Rafting Company is that they like to get in the French Broad River earlier than the other rafting companies. This allows for greater possibilities of seeing riverside wildlife. Rodney, of the Hot Springs Rafting Company, says one of his favorite animal sightings he encounters are bald eagles which can be regularly spotted.
“Only rafting place that cared to take a last minute trip of 4 people. Our guide Brian was awesome. Located a little further from Asheville than the big rafting places, but they raft the same section 9 plus the building is located downtown Hot Springs so other things to do. They also offer tubing. To many, floating down the French Broad River is a highlight of summer as the river is peppered with tubers enjoying the beautiful mountains, water and sunshine. Starting near Hot Springs, enjoy a gentle float down the French Broad River for nearly 4 miles all the way to the Murray Branch River Access on River Road.
