Little Ivy Loop (Recovery Ride)

12 Miles

This Mars Hill cycling route is an excellent choice for cyclists who want a fairly flat and scenic ride through country roads. This low trafficked route snakes its way through farmlands, valleys and along streams.

Starting in downtown Mars Hill, riders head south on Main Street and wind their way through scenic residential neighborhoods before crossing over the I-26 and continuing the loop alongside the Little Ivy Creek.

The Mars Hill University Cycling team calls this route the “Recovery Ride” because it’s a great ride to do for a more relaxed workout.

The ride finishes back in downtown Mars Hill where riders can refuel at some of the local restaurants.

This route can be enjoyed in the spring, summer and fall! It’s perfect if you’re in the mood to cruise through the FLAT countryside (which can be tough to find in the Appalachian Mountains).
