MHU Disc Golf Course

Breathe in the fresh mountain air on one of the most challenging and scenic disc golf courses in Western North Carolina. The Mars Hill University Disc golf course is located on the Mars Hill University campus, just 20 minutes north of Asheville. The course is a favorite among many local disc golfers and is a fantastic opportunity for some relaxing fun outdoors with friends.

The Mars Hill University disc golf course is a sanctuary of natural beauty which features a variety of indigenous plants and trees of Western North Carolina, while at the same time offering picturesque views of rolling green fairways surrounded by steep mountain slopes. The holes are laid out in a complete circle around the back side of the Mars Hill University campus, utilizing approximately 30 acres of land. The course entails 43 different tee pads and 34 different basket placements, with extremely quick greens and lots of out of bounds. The steep slopes and layout of the course include approximately a mile and a half hike that challenges the player’s endurance and disc golf skills.

The cool climate of Mars Hill allows disc golfers to comfortably play the course during the spring, summer and fall. With Bailey Mountain towering over the course, experiencing the course during peak fall leaf season is particularly wonderful.

The MHU disc golf course is the perfect course to enjoy with friends. Novice disc golfers as well as experienced players will find themselves challenged by the strategic fairways and cage placements. The MHU disc golf course is “a must” for disc golf enthusiasts in Western North Carolina.

Ample parking is available around the campus and the town of Mars Hill has bars and restaurants within walking distance to enjoy after playing all day on the course.
