Vandermey Ceramics
Love your pet? Love coffee or tea? Then you will love Vandermay Ceramics. Emily VanderMey designs custom pet pottery as well as other ceramic projects. Emily’s goal as an artist is to make one-of-a-kind functional artwork that anyone can afford. All of her processes include careful planning, design, and quality control. She creates in a way that allows her to create pieces that are affordable enough that others can feel comfortable using them every day.
Emily started on the road to custom pet pottery in 2017 when she adopted her dog Banzai. She knew that she had to create a piece of art with her likeness. Banzai is a brindle dutch shepherd mix and her fur pattern reminded Emily of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” After she shared her first and new favorite mug, friends and family members started requesting she make a custom mug of their own pets. Emily loved creating these unique mugs so much that she essentially derailed her fine art endeavors to pursue custom pet pottery.
Emily straddles a balance between custom orders and pushing her fine art into new territories, and everything is starting to come together as one body of work. One of her newer artistic endeavors is a collection she calls “Farm Art” which is truly remarkable.

“Emily is an amazing artist. I ordered a mug for my wife after our cat Lucee passed away as a way to remember how special she was to both of us. Emily contacted me and had me send her photos of our Lucee so that she creates this wonderful work of art. She kept in contact with me throughout the process and made me feel really good about my purchase. When I received the mug and had my wife open the box she was so excited and teared up at seeing the image of our beloved cat on this beautiful mug. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Emily and her amazing work! You won’t be disappointed if you order a product from her.” – Nick
